The factory bushings on these bikes are known to wear out quickly, and KTM’s service schedule recommends inspection/replacement every 40 hours of use.  Failure to replace the factory bushings regularly will lead to damage to the Bendix, starter motor, flywheel, ignition cover and engine case.  This can be an extremely expensive repair bill.

 

 

Using these upgraded bushings will significantly improve the reliability, efficiency and lifetime of your entire electric starting system.

We do not supply an installation tool as this is an unnecessary extra cost (installation is simple with some basic mechanics tools).  We recommend to use some retaining compound during installation such as Loctite 638 or Loctite 648.

2019 - Check your bike to see whether a standard, or long bushing is installed in the ignition cover, some 2019 bikes have 2 long bushings others a long bushing in the crankcase and a standard bushing in the ignition cover.
