Half Mousse Install

Installation Guide: Half Mousse + Tubliss (Rear Wheel)

Tools & Supplies

• Half mousse (correct size for tyre)
• Tubliss Gen 2.0 system (already installed or being installed)
• Tyre levers
• Rubber lubricant (silicone-based or tyre paste – no petroleum products)
• Air pump capable of 110 psi (for Tubliss inner bladder)
• Rim lock wrench
• Soapy water
• Gloves

1. Prep the Wheel & Tyre

• Remove the wheel from the bike.
• Deflate the tyre fully and break the bead on both sides.
• Remove the tyre from the rim (you do not need to remove the Tubliss system if it's in good condition).
• Inspect the Tubliss red liner and high-pressure bladder for damage. Replace if needed.

2. Install the Half Mousse

• Apply a Liberal amount of lubricant to the inside of the tyre carcass.
• Place the half mousse inside the tyre on the opposite side of the Tubliss inner bladder.
• The mousse sits where the traditional tube would have been, but only fills half the volume.
• Ensure the mousse is evenly distributed around the circumference of the tyre.

3. Refit the Tyre

• Lubricate the tyre bead.
• Carefully lever the tyre back onto the rim.
• Keep the red liner seated properly.
• Avoid pinching the high-pressure bladder.
• Check bead alignment all the way around the rim.

4. Inflate & Seat

• Inflate the Tubliss inner bladder to 100–110 psi. (Do not exceed manufacturer recommendation.)
• Add 0–8 psi to the tyre chamber (outer chamber).
• Bounce the tyre and rotate it to fully seat the mousse and outer bead.
• Verify the bead is fully locked and the rim lock is torqued correctly.

5. Final Checks

• Spin the wheel and look for bead wobble.
• Squeeze tyre: it should feel firm but still have some give from the mousse.
• Ride 5–10 minutes to warm and settle the mousse.
• Recheck both pressures:

Inner bladder: 100–110 psi / Use 100psi if you are in a warm climate to prevent inner bladder failure.
Outer chamber: 0–8 psi (or your preferred traction level)
